Its that time of year again, you know, January, when biking for most of us is just a dream and we long for the heady (read dry and warm) days of Spring to "fucking hurry up and" get here.

I've done about 500 miles on the Adventure in the last couple of months (Christmas got in the way a bit) and have sorted it a proper exhaust and I'm still happy to have it..... but, I feel there is still something missing from the garage.

I conclude that most things I have owned haven't really been a bit "special" which is why its been so easy to sell them on.  Considering Dan's recent Lotus purchase I find myself wanting something a bit rare to fill a void.  This bike will not be massively expensive but will be something I lusted after when I was a kid.  Something that could easily sit in the garage, not turn a wheel for 90% of the year but still not "get the chop" due to boredom.

I met a bloke in Swindon a few years ago who had a garage full of modern classics (he was trying to sell his FZR400RRSP at the time) that inc an original R1, a ZXR750R and a mint RGV250 VJ22.  He had the right idea.

The FZR RRSP would be top of my list, I'd love another RGV (I owned the last one at a time when biking really wasn't high on my agenda) or maybe an RD350.

Just wondered what else might be out there and what you lot would like to cuddle "modern classic"-wise.  This list will not include one off specials or modded bikes so don't litter my thread with cafe racers, customs or streetfighters.

If anyone does stumble across a decent RRSP for sale, please let me know.

I'd like to think my Buell and ZX7 will have classic value in the future.

Dicko's got a nice little collection, a 996SPS, a 999bip, a soon to be restored to mint slab side GSXR750 and an old BSA C11.

Millhouse

Not something that i often think about but this lept to the forefront when i read the thread ...

NOT MASSIVELY EXPENSIVE Millhouse.........

Otherwise the conversation would have ended when I went out and bought an RC30......

350 power valve...always fancied one of these..they aren't that cheap now though.

I'd actually quite like my old Trumpet Adventurer back...which I sold to buy my G1, but it is now worth about £3.5k and rising.

Exactly the reason I bought the NC30 last year. Lusted after one as a kid, bought one, sold it a couple of years later and regretted doing so since. Couldn't bring myself to sell it when looking at track bikes late on last year.

Its nice having a blast on one of them new fangled sthou's and the like, but I wouldn't swap either of mine for one.

Only thing that I'd like to add to my garage is an RS250 or NSR250, specifically a late MC28. Wanted them both as a kid, but never did.

If you're really after an RRSP, get yourself on 400greybike.com if you're not already, they come up on there every now and then.

Oooh yeah NSR250 with the credit card ignition.

No I had a dream machine Red Bull rep on a standard bike and a 2010 R which was a lovely bike.

I missed a pukka, one of about 30 in this country, Akrapovic LE RC8R with a KTM reg plate and 271 miles that sold on gumtree for £6-fucking-k.  The guy on the KTM forum who got it (lived in the same town - how lucky) had to pinch himself when he saw it with all the paperwork etc.  Probably worth £10k as it was all there, including the club race kit and Akky system fitted....  I'd describe it as a once in a decade find and bargain......

6K is cheap!! Ive been having a look at them on tinternet and 6K is a bargain of a price! Dave Wood from DWR racing reckons they are probably the best bike ever built.....i agree with him!

MOzZereLLa

£6k is not cheap, its a fucking steal......

Dad gave it to his daughter as a wedding present to help pay fo the wedding.  She needed £6k, that's what she got......

Gutted.  That said, if I had bought it unseen you could bet your bottom dollar it would have been a fake or nicked...
