Hi All,

On a 10 day trip end of July and looking for a decent tankbag. My C1H is half covered in plastic so my current magnetic isnt the best fit. Anyone tried baglux stuff or tanklock?

Baglux are the dogs danglies.
I've had one bag for about 15yrs and only the rain cover has died a couple of years ago. (And it was replaceable.) I'm on my 3rd tank cover but that's only because I've changed bike.

They're dead easy to get on and off, are totally secure, don't move at all, and your tank doesn't get scratched. My only criticism is that when the bag is full my chest rests on the bag, but I can't imagine any other bag of a similar size would be any different.

tbh I find them a right pain on a long trip when filling up
much prefer a tail pack which has the same capacity but loads less hassle

Im with clipper on the trail pack,  I've got a tank bag at the moment and I'm looking to get a tail pack instead just because I've then got more room to move around on the bike
Now with 100% more sarcasm.

+2 on the tail pack. I've got both tank abnd tail bags, and I don't like the tank bag digging in to my chest if i'm honest. Tail packs are brill :)

I agree on Tail packs, I bought some Kreiga gear, not cheap but bloody good, However I also use a smallish tankbag as it's good for easy access items and being a naked bike thay can provide some extra wind protection. Saying that I used a tankbag on both the ZX6R and ZX10R and never found them to be an issue.

Hi All... :azn: Thanks for the feedback. I would normally use my tail pack except my lovely wife will be taking that position instead.   Hence the tankbag Q's.

Thanks idris for the info...I have been looking at the baglux stuff, how much did you pay for the bag? The cover and bag seem to put the price up a lot, £100 for cover then £80-100 for bag, which was why I thought of something like the tanklock system.

Consider throw over panniers for the back end as well. Bulky tank bags are a pain to ride with on a sports bike when you are reachign past them for the clip ons

(Sorry for the slow reply.)
Can't remember what the Baglux bag and cover cost, but that sounds about right.

That said, the bag has lasted really well (about a decade of it's life it has been used an average of 5 days a week) and IIRC the covers have reasonable second hand value. I'd say it's all worked out at less than £20 a year.
