Do it! Do it! Do it!

That's about as affordable racing as you could possibly do. And if you don't do it, you'll always regret it.

DaveH

That sounds like a great setup.

Dom1

Go for it!

Flog a few more hooky TV's and just do it.

do some track days and get your house

If you can do it then just get on with it.....would be one of those things you would regret not doing later in life

A couple of worrying quotes though

The BMCRC senior 300 series is open to anyone aged 19 yrs and up. 19 IS NOT SENIOR, 45 IS....

"The basic NJC package being ridden in the series this season costs £3999 + VAT ready to race with rearsets, race exhaust, full race fairings and slipper clutch. Optional extras are available that include race suspension from Maxton."

Optional extras??? Meaning it'll cost a fortune more to be competitive....

A whole heap more hooky TVs I'd say.....

Do it Mr S!!!!!!!
Significantly faster than you.....

Sounds like fun, but you'd have to push the living shit out of the stock kit to be anywhere..... then you're looking at injuries and damage repair costs.

When did bike racing get so expensive? I remember rocking up at any club circuit on a Friday, banging fairings for a weekend and not even thinking about tyre changes and I always had enough money left over for a bag of chips on the way home.

Men were men when I was a lad

Do it!  Whether you're competitive or not, have the money or not, you enjoy racing.

Thats not a bad price for a one make series...

Add tyres, fuel, damage, license, travel to and from and your there or thereabouts.

I reckon you could do a season for £12k..

2014: ACU National Endurance 1000 (2nd)

m6rk

all valid points raised...

so 12k all in for a season eh? biggest issue is gonna be transport / caravan / van / bling motorhome.. and that i'll get beaten.. a lot.. by people not carrying my 'muscular frame' around  but... i do miss racing.....
