Do you always go out in the full gear, or are more relaxed about it ?

Bunny

The usual all in one leathers but lighter gloves and not a lot underneath.

Plan not too stop at all as well.

I've got to say, I've always been very keen about the leathers regardless (and preached it), but if I'm nipping up to the shops, do I really want to totally gear up if I keep the speed down to 25mph (which is push bike territory) ?

Green_Ninja

Always wear jacket, helmet gloves, boots (have short boots for summer) plus if it's really hot as at the moment I wear Hood Kevlar lined jeans. If it's too hot I don't ride as I am not happy without decent gear on.

Stuno1

Full leathers, back protector, boots. The lot. Do sweat loads but the alternative is not worth thinking about.

See loads wearing shorts, vests and flip flops with a lid!

same as any other time of year
if i am going out for blat: full works
if just to work or up to shops i usually replace leather trousers with just jeans or cargos

its not hot enough to ride about in shorts and t-shirts yet!
that said i did ride the 125 up the road to work the other day with a hoody one, was quite nice

KTM 1290 Superduke GT
BMW R nine T

the invisible dog

One-piece leathers and EDZ undersuit, full kit   ;)
Also have Draggin Jeans and a Weiss textile armoured jacket if commuting or know I wil need to stop for some time

Pyro

ATTGATT for me although I've taken to wearing bike jeans in the last couple of days. Still not entirely comfortable with the idea but at least there's a bit of protection there with the Kevlar and whatnot. To be honest, the standard of driving around here (Leicester) is so utterly abysmal I'm really not comfortable in anything but full protection.

Sweat washes off, road rash doesn't.
Don't worry, none of this blood is mine.

The main difference there is I, like i'm sure a lot of the others on here, do not use our bikes for short trips to the shops hence why you feel putting all that on is a lot of work, which it is.

I went on my bike once with a pair of jeans on and it just did not fell right so leathers all the way for me.

Out on Sunday all day and I know i'm going to boil!!!!

Snozzeltoff

Going for a blast then full 2 piece leathers, back protector, gloves and boots.

But like yesterday I went to Silverstone on the bike to take photos of F1 cars. Wore my lighter textile jacket as it folds up into a bag better, no back protector but thick pad in the jacket, lighter and thinner TCX boots and armoured Hood bike jeans. If we had this weather more often I'd like to get the TCX armoured shoes, a bit like converse but with a bit of height and protection over the ankle and rigid armour in the usual spots. But again this is all for short trips or days on the bike where I know I'll be stopping and walking about.

I work about 20 minutes walk from the nearest shop and  only get 30 minutes for lunch. it is about 3 minutes up the road on the bike and needed some milk....it did go through my head, but someone else was going so didn't need to go.

I guess what we are really talking about here is risk compensation.

If you ride according to the conditions...be that very sedately due to the lack of protective gear, do you expose yourself to any more or less risk than when you blat down the favourite bypass in ATGATT ?

Full kit normally even in this (chuffing excellent) heat. I do have some mesh kit for very short trips but I don't think I've bothered with it yet

Have never been too fussy about it. generally wear full leathers if its convenient but have been on most sorts of rides in most sorts of kit. Rarely do any sort of quick or long journey in anything but my leathers.
