So I am no longer having to commute into work on the bike and am bored of the 636 even if it has been faultless for the last 2 years.

I have always had a soft spot for these KTMs and at 6ft 3 with the legs from a giraffe they have been one of the more comfy bikes I've sat on. I'm going to book a test ride but wanted to ask if anyone has owned one and what they thought?

CharlieRC8R to the thread, Charlie to the thread. ;)

He's a lanky bugger and an rc8r rider. Seems to love his!
Life is a contact sport,  you'll be needing rule #5

A lot of my local riding buds have moved to the big KTM 1000 supermoto but I still find sports bikes more comfortable. It's just the leg room!

Definitely the most roomy and probably the most comfy sports bike. I'm on my fourth one now, love them. I've been to Assen and Monza on mine and found the trip more relaxing than my mate on his Blade.

Mate just bought one and loves it. You need a later model with twin spark as apparently it smooths out power delivery.

Moz will be along shortly I'm sure.

MOz is on holiday.

Don't waste your money on a newer twin spark. 2010 RC8R with a PCV and custom map (even with a standard exhaust) will be the best bet. Better wheels, motor, suspension etc

I like this colour scheme.

Nat

I get the impression that these are 'wife forces sale' bikes - only get one if you don't have a wife or girlfriend!

Ha she has given up with that line. Telling me I can't have something is usually swiftly followed with me turning up with said item. She's far to sharp for that she tells me if I think it's a good idea and I would prefer it to the other 5 things I  currently want then go ahead.  This is usually followed by me uming and arring over what to buy and purchasing nothing. Ergo she wins! Damn it!

could be worse, when ever I buy anything including  bikes the other half insists whats mine is hers and whats hers is her own.....
