The bike performed well in the wet of Rockingham at the weekend, but due to the weather it wasn't really a proper run out, so I will have to wait until next month at Snetterton to really make sure.

That aside, received some brand new Goodridge front brake hoses for a '10-13 model RR, needed these as the lines that are on the bike are for an '03-04 model (which the bike actually is), but due to the extensively modified front end, these are now at odd angles and restrict access to the pad retention pins.  The new lines, along with pretty much everything else that has gone onto this bike came up cheap on eBay.

Should find some time to fit this weekend, and also got a battery tray / undertray thingie that I'm planning on modding to allow the fitment of the tail end of the kit Arrows exhaust system, which in turn will then allow bolt on options for getting a quiet silencer for MSV trackdays.

Managed to find an hour or two today and fitted up the new Goodridge hoses.

Start point

Hose has to sit at an odd angle just to clear the caliper

Master cylinder end

New hoses fit as they should

Now fitted to the caliper correctly

Fitment to the master cylinder

Fitted the SBS dual carbons back in after changing back to the EBC HH before the wet day at Rockingham.  Quick nip up and down the road making sure the brakes are ok after the work completed, managed to drag the brakes and get a tiny bit of heat, then gave the lever a sharp pull at about 10mph and I nearly flipped it

Latest purchase arrived this morning

Won't get to fit it before Snettetton tomorrow, so will go on the to do list.

Bring it with you, we can fit it whilst we watch the rain.

HM's are easy to fit - shouldn't take more than an hour.

Bring it with you Neil. I've got plenty of zip-ties...

HM Quickshifter not yet fitted as I need to get the right size link bar.

Had a trackday at Snetterton today, mixed conditions, but was able to really wring it's neck and test the cooling system.  I know you will always run cooler in the wet, but the bike never went over 85'c on track, and seemed to sit around 80'c most of the time, and the expansion bottle still has roughly the same amount of water in as when I filled it up prior to nearly 1 month and two half trackdays ago.

Safe to say then that my coolant issues are well and truely over.

The next installment of work has now begun.....

Stripped the rearsets off, cleaned them up and changed most of the bolts for a more uniform appearance (there were some odd bolts from them being replaced with whatever fits by the previous owner).  Taken the link bar off and have managed to work out that I don't need to buy a special one from HM, so the strain gauge is now fitted and it's all ready to go back on the bike, this will happen after I have completed some of the other work I need to do.

For the meat of the work to do, the tank had to come off and I have made a start on getting the underseat area ready for trying to relocate the starter relays and associated wiring.  By doing this I will then modify the battery tray/undertray which will allow me to fit the correct link pipe onto the Arrows exhaust, which in turn, will allow me to fit something like a MHP clubman exhaust can, which should be lower than 102db and therefore make RR compliant for MSV trackdays.

I also need the tank and airbox off so that I can fit the HM wiring harness to the coil plugs.

And finally, the tank needs to stay off whilst I take the clutch casing off and change the clutch to the Sigma.

Continued with the fitting the quickshifter today.....

Removed the airbox and connected the HM loom into the coil packs, then routed the loom neatly and found a good earth point.  Fitted the link bar too, so when the bike is back together, it should just need setting up.

After that it was onto the clutch, removed the clutch case, which was easier said than done as the gasket sealant that Honda use really doesn't like seperating.  Anyway, got the case off, and then all the bits that are loose (idle gear etc for starter motor) and then onto the clutch itself.  Removed the clutch cover and plates, and then using the new clutch holder tool removed the nut for the clutch centre.  Trial fitted all the plates into the Sigma to make sure the clearances meet the required spec and all is good.  Can't fit it back together yet though as I've bought a new friction plate so that I could eliminate the anti chatter rings, and it needs a good soaking before fitting.

Should be back together next weekend, leaving only the underseat wire tidying left to do.

I honestly thought you already had one, your up and downshifts are MUCH smoother than mine, possibly the bike more than the rider....or at least that's what I'm telling myself ;)

Finished up with the fitting of the Sigma today, all straight forward enough, and then got the rest of the bike back to normal so that I could give it a test to make sure there was nothing awry.

I have temporarily aborted the relocation of tailend wiring and exhaust changing until I have mustered up some more enthusiasm and energy to continue.

Chucked the battery back on and it fired up and ran on the button, a quick adustment of the clutch lever was needed due to the change in the clutch stack height, but other than that there were no problems.  A quick up and down of the road reveals that the quickshifter works, but I'll go through the calibration when I can.  It also revealed that the clutch feels fine, but I can't really test it any further without it being on track (I did get some speed up in fourth and then clutch in down to 1st and clutch drop out again without locking the rear, but it was hardly a conclusive test)

So much has changed on this bike (again) that it's now due another name........it's now.....RR EVO 3
