Have you seen the road going RCV?

Looks great but I suspect it will have a 6 figure price tag.

R1 closely followed by the S1R.

Hate to say it Whoopee but Suzuki are getting left behind both in design and tech.
Significantly faster than you.....

KTM 1290 Superduke GT

anyone who says it looks good needs a fucking hard slap. it's gopping, no wonder rossi and lorenzo looked so fucking sheepish on the stage with it, it's like a backward-cross-eyed, buck toothed cousin (stoner??) that just shat itself and started rubbing it in it's hair!

and when rossi was asked to kiss it you could see his face run away from the bike!!

Love it. It's an M1 with the most subtle but legal lights they could get away with.

Can't wait to see it in the flesh. Decision close to made.

the frequency at which I'm finding myself in agreement with Mozoir is beginning to arise some concern.

but yes, I love it too......

whoopee

Millhouse,
I was trying to be more diplomatic but I have to say I agree with you completely.
I genuinely got a surprise when I saw THAT thing this morning.

Moz,
Each to their own of course but I really don't care anymore about "falling behind" with technology anymore.
The big problem the designers of the Hyper-bikes is - as far as I see it......by the mid-noughties they had made bikes that were easily as good as anyone could ever want for the road, however, because a sports motorcycle is often a "hobby-vehicle" there are still tens of thousands of them still about in great condition, with low miles going for a few thousand quid. SO----if they are going to still try & sell us pointlessly competent bikes, they at least need to look STUNNING. Not - some like it - some don't - like say the KTM RC8 - but one that EVERYONE agrees is wonderful like the first 916 - or dare I say it - the first R1.

Beauty is in the eye of the beer-holder of course - I just think I'd need a few pints to love that thing.

In terms of design the gixer is starting to look pretty aged now but I'd still choose it over the messier looking R1 or the Kawasaki I think. The BMW and the Honda are the ones I'd be happy polishing at the bottom of my driveway waiting for people to look at me whilst I shy and boringly go about my business.

As for the tech, it seems to me a lot of the advances now are making things better and easier to ride as opposed to making them faster. I'm all for that.

Only bit of it I don't like is having all the catalyst guts hanging out of the bottom, but I'm guessing it gets too hot to hide behind a fairing.

Absolutely no issue Whoopee - as you say, each to their own, eye of the beholder etc.

I like the Suzuki but I have to say their absence from MotoGP and top level racing (i.e. WSB) not going at all well is beginning to hurt their development.  Its a shame as the days of the all conquering K5 thou etc were heady.

I have to say, the big bang engine is so good I don't really care what they dress it in but I am a fan of the new bike.  I have always said function over form anyhow so never care what a bike looks like within reason as long as it does the job.

And Millhouse, you slap me, I'll bomb your house.....  ;)

I think it looks immense...not Panigale stunning...but pretty robust looking...it's the Moto GP look for the road...it's a winner.
