Why give Brembo money if you can make your own brakes...I feel certain they will be extremely capable.

mc101

In terms of the brakes, they clearly don't look as good as brembo GP4 or M4 monoblock but I bet the stock ones if mated with Z04 pads (track use only) I'm sure they'll prove more than capable for 99% of people.

Clearly those fussy over the looks too will whip them off and stick GP4 mono blocs on it (in nickel finish) :-)

The other thing is that although some companies fit Brembo's as OE they are not the same as even the entry level aftermarket Brembo's M4's. Just the same as the Ohlins shocks / forks that are fitted as OE to certain bikes.

When's yours coming Mark?
Life is a contact sport,  you'll be needing rule #5

I would fuckin love one of these, I think its likely to be THE bike to have in Superstock straight out of the box, another leap forward in terms of electronics, power to match the BMW and Kawasaki with the benefit of a crossplane motor. Slide control sounds cool as it could make me look and feel like a god as opposed to my accidentally induced, hamfisted slides without control on previous gens of R1.

I even like the look of the thing, its gonna look awesome in track trim. Looks like neither version is going to be particularly cheap though.

Get it bought Big Ron

MOzZereLLa

Prices announced.

£14,995 for standard bike, £18,495 for the M.

£1000 better than expected.
Significantly faster than you.....

tucola

Hmm, just saw that also.

You going to get one then?

I'd love one but no new bike in 2015....

They would have to give me £15k to be seen on it....a disgrace of a machine...doesn't deserve to wear an R1 badge.

MOzZereLLa

I predict it's going to wipe the floor with every other litre class bike out there on launch.

Couldn't give a shit what it looks like (and it looks great) if it does the job.

Is it really that bad in the flesh Alzo??

Alzo

It honestly is...all banter aside it is terrible.

The M is a better price than I expected, still too rich for me but as specials go its not too crazy for those who can afford it.

Shame the base bike is so expensive but then the price of all the litres has been creeping up in recent years so its not alone. I expect th Americans are buying theirs for about a 3rd less though.

I'm with Moz, I think its going to clean up in Superstock if its as good as expected. May need a season or two in Superbike to develop with the advantage of the stock electronics out of the equasion but I'm sure the factory will be putting lots of effort in.

Must be about as close to a Moto GP bike that you can get given the electronics package and I even like the look of it. If I was still in the game and had the coin mine would be on order right now.

Tiiimmmaaayyyy

Its alright looking until you catch sight of the front of it. The headlights make it look bloody awful.

Alzo

It's alright if you don't look at it....it could be as fast as a speeding bullet and I still wouldn't want one.
