Hi,

What battery optimisers are you guys using to look after your bike while they are wrapped up through the winter months ?

It's been ages since I've bought one.  Is it still all about Opitmate or are there other good ones out there now ?

I've had 2 optimisers die on me now. Best way IMO is to just charge every one or 2 weeks and let it discharge of its own accord.

Have a couple of Optimate 4s that run all winter on the race bike and garden tractor (small car battery size) and never given me any grief and the battery always works come Spring :-)
2015: NLR HT1 Endurance (1st)
2014: ACU National Endurance 1000 (2nd)

My biggest gripe with them is that you don't know how long their charging/discharging cycles are. Batteries don't like being held in a constant state of charge.

komp

also got optimate 4
kept all my bike batteries in perfect health

KTM 1290 Superduke GT
BMW R nine T

got an Optimate 3 that I have had for years, just works   :azn:

I've got one of those too. Better than an Optimate in my opinion.
Significantly faster than you.....
