Thought I'd update all who have posted and read this, thanks for all advice etc.

Long story short, I went back twice after getting my lid to bikstop. They spoke with Shoei and got extra padding/sizes etc. I tried a few fittings and the last set feels great.

Awesome lid and very quiet and light.
