Now I know this is in the bike section, but as the majority of my thoughts seem to revolve around riding mine, so I'm really very pleased it is pissing down today. I don't need to commute by bike, but still like to get out there on it even at this time if year, however I rode in to work yesterday, and on a fairly gentle throttle in 2nd gear, the back end span up after leaving a junction (at about 7-8k rpm).
Not a problem in its own respect, but you then appreciate that there is so little grip on braking and cornering.

The roads are just so shit and covered in a consistent layer of slippery salty porridge all the time which never dries out, and I think we need about a week of rain to get rid of it.

Roll on the spring :)

My bike comes out early May and goes away end of Sept.

was still riding in dec/jan, and would normally be out and about this time of year
but haven't taken the panigale out of the conservatory yet (was such a pain to get in don't want to take out until i know it can stay out)
although i reckon i will be out this weekend if dry, getting the pangs big time
the salt is a nightmare, as a biker would prefer if they didnt bother gritting, i am sure car drivers would disagree tho :P

I ride every day due to not having a car licence.

And I have to agree with you about the condition of the roads most days.  The gritting around here only happens on the main road so it can be 'fun' shall we say.
Now with 100% more sarcasm.

I took the R6 out on Sunday, didn't go too far just over to J&S Northwich but it was a nice ride if a little brisk!

tucola

Hmm, plenty of salt in Northwich.

My car just understeers :-(

Bike wise Its okay, 8k revs in second in very slippery conditions wet and salty conditions :-), even on a 600 that's pushing it this time of year. I possibly it might just be me riding little a fuel consumption whore never going over about 6k.

Nat

I love how you guys talk about 8k...that never happens!

So so so so so so bored of the wet weather now...
