the man speaks the truth, if you were any where near you could have a shot on mine, do get a test ride on a street they are ACE :-)

CBr6y

i will get a test ride on the street, maybe it might convince that the looks are worth putting up with

every time i look at one, i keep thinking that they just bolted the clocks and headlights on as an after thought!

Am surprised at the cost of some of these clip ons ....   maybe that is the scot in me  :embarrassed:  :embarrassed:

Street fighter look is what they have achieved...put looks aside and try one...epic.

hopefully getting a test ride on a couple of bikes tomorrow .... just for the sheer hell of it!!

waiting on the dealer calling me back with a vague idea of trade in for mine, although i know it would be better to sell private, and its likely the route i would take.

:moto: Planning a wee run on a street triple (even though i'd prefer the speed) and a cb1000, to see what suits best and also to see if they are enjoyable enough to make me want to part with loverly cbr  ;)

scrap the above ... wouldn't piss on the bike shop if It were on fire, and they definitely don't stand a chance of getting my hard earned dosh!

time to search again then!

whoopee

I've used heli bars on a 2003 R1 & my current 2013 GSXR1000.
I used Gilles variobars on my 2006 R1.

All 3 were fantastic to use, - transformed my enjoyment of the bikes.
Very subtle INDEED to look at....had to point them out to mates....but you really feel it when you're riding. They are slightly wider, slightly higher (approx. 30mm) & slightly closer towards the rider. Non of it sounds very much but it feels great and looks standard. All your cables and hoses stay standard.

The heli's would be my preference. Expensive but stunningly high quality.
The Gilles were adjustable, but I never did move them once I'd got them how I liked.

Might be worth a look.

cupar m'cycles .... offered me £500 for my cbr, and were non committal about whether they would even have the triple ready (with a days notice) for a test ride, all because it needs a back tyre.  So you have a bike sitting in the show room for sale with a f*cked back tyre, oh and the cb has no road tax and they wouldn't put any on either bike should I decide to purchase.

I also asked if there was a discount for no trade-in and they refused, the bikes are already discounted (funny that there other ones around that are in the same ball park, discounted my arse)

F*ck em, they wont be getting a sale from me

Just to give you an idea of comparison, dealership in Newcastle gave me a figure of £1500 trade in against a bike that was £1K cheaper than the one at cupar ... and all on the basis of a photograph and a description from me.

Call Two Wheels...ask for Neil Danskin...tell him I said he would do you proud.

CBr6y

I'll bare that in mind Alzo, cheers

might just be putting a change on the back burner for now, look more at the clip on idea before I do anything drastic.

Street Triple is far, far better than a GSR750 Lorna.

CBr6y

its the CB1000R that grabs me Hugh, saw the GSR750 and thought it was not bad looking, tidy size etc, but the still prefer the CB1000R :moto: :moto: doubt the GSR would get a look in really. Quite like the triumph, but never ridden any of them, so test rides are a must, come the time.

its likely be put it off until next year anyhow, see what prices are like then.

cheers  :azn:
