Afternoon all,

Sorry, not been posting for awhile... Few life changing events, no bike, divorce, lost most things I own, no money... etc!

But life is good again and my bike itch is getting bigger than ever!!

Downside is I lost all my biking gear during messy divorce but I need to go shopping again and for everything!  Boots, gloves, leathers etc...

Before life changed I'd already given up road riding and was focusing on track days only so think I'm going to continue down that path but hire a bike for the time being.

I live near Weybridge, near Heathrow...  Where's the best places to buy all the gear these days?

Ta

Welcome back mate :-)

I don't know if there is one near you but if there is I'd recommend J&S Accessories. If the ones down there are anything like the one near me they have a great range of stuff, from more budget stuff through to the top end stuff.

I've bought a full set of textiles from them, gloves, helmet. My local one has every accessory you can think of.

+1

I've order plenty of stuff over the years online, usually with good service but with bike gear I like to know that I can go in, browse around and get good service. Also if I have a problem I'd rather deal with a person rather than a mailing address/email account.

I got a £700 Arai lid for £500 in the Dainese store in Manchester just by enquiring if there was any price reduction they could do.

I got a pair of A-stars Goretex gloves for £30 off the RRP by enquiring at Hein Gericke years ago.

There's always a deal to be had and I'd rather that in a real shop. When I splurged £900 on some leathers years ago at a bike shop I asked about the matching gloves which were £100, I said I didn't have the money but I might by them later on. The guy threw them in as I was spending such alot of money there. Online retailers won't do that.

Can offer you a nice track bike delivered for use for the cost of half a dozen track day hires.

Awesome, cheers all useful stuff.  There is indeed a J&S not to far from me, New Malden so reckon I'll take a trip over that way in the week :)

I've also been recommended Mega Motorcycle Store in Swindon, bit of a treak but looks promising!

I shall report back when I have all the gear and no idea!

Cheers Dom, I would love too....  My main issue there is, no garage or anywhere to keep it, nor any place to keep a trailer.

I have pondered renting a garage....  But thought I'll get the leather, helmet etc...  and see what happens.

Welcome back fella,

I haven't stopped biking but just before Christmas I went to Bike Stop Stevenage;
http://www.bikestop.co.uk/
A bit further to travel for you but well worth it I think. I wanted a one stop shop with a good service.
I bought new textile winter kit, gloves, boots and lid and some other bits. Negotiated a nice discount at the till.
Service and advice was very good with plenty of tea/coffee and biscuits during my 2.5hr session.

I'll be heading back there this week for summer boots and glove (white!) as I have a one piece
