A question about a presentation

As some of you know, I quite regularly get asked to give presentations to various motorcycle groups and clubs around the country on a variety of motorcycle/legal related subjects.

However, I appreciate that not everyone is a member of a group and club but still have a wish to attend such an evening or event.

On that basis, if a talk/surgery type event was set up within reasonably easy travelling distance of where you live at an independent venue and was free of charge (even tea and coffee and maybe a few biccies may be provided at no cost as well ) would any of you be interested?

It is just an idea that I am kicking around at the moment so nothing speciific in mind yet. I am just trying to gauge what the interest might be.

And for those who say I am in the south and you live in the north, or you are in the west of the country or wherever, there would be a series of these around the country, so it would not be exclusive to just one part of the country.

I would be interested to hear your thoughts.

I am sure it would be of interest but I would suggest combining it with an existing event or a dealer event that is being promoted anyway or it may not get the exposure you require.

If for instance you could rent some space at Poole Quay Bike Night or speak at a big dealer like Crescent I reckon you would get more people along.

I think for me, if it was just a seminar about the legal side of things I would probably not venture out for it despite being interested - think I would assume it is a bit dry.

However, if it is about getting enough people through the door for it to make it worth doing and for you to get over your message I would be really up for something like 'an evening with....' type event where you got someone along to speak / tell a few stories but sponsored by your firm. I've heard of Carl Foggarty doing stuff like this for instance.

If the premise of going was to see a talk by a biking celeb but also find out some interesting stuff from your guys that would be something I'd be really keen to go to.

Just a thought.

As a caveat on that, if it was you I knew that was doing it then I would be along anyway.... but just thinking about marketing it to the wider folk.

It is a potential idea that I am looking at, as I have spoken to a couple of dealers who run social events, and with whom I have quite a good relationship with.  Poole Quay bike night is an absolute no no as you need a licence and the 2 law firms that have their own stands there tend to throw hissy fits if anyone poaches on their ground.  I have enquired about Poole before.

Being from a training and enforcment background, it could be a joint venture with some schools or groups which could be seen as a PR event for them as well, but there will still be locations where we will need to pick up the slack, and in any case we would probably have our own race team in attendance, and Talan may come along as a favour to me even though I no longer work for his principa sponsor.

But the general idea is to make it a bit of a social with a bit of presentation banter rather than having anything too formal.
