So the R1 sale proved to be unnecessary.....

In the end, selling the bike expecting a requirement for about £5k in pocket to go towards expected work on a house we wanted to buy was a bit galling.

Even more so when the work on that house actually amounts to £25k+ and the situation is as good as dead in the water.

Add to that the great weather we've had in the last 2 weeks and I'm pretty pig sick.

The only way to solve that is to buy a new toy. I think I want to go naked again. Road riding a Superbike missile is a waste of time to be honest.

Shortlist is as follows. Really not sure which way to go.

Almost certainly in red with a full Arrow Ti system. Let's face it, white is a girl's colour.

Loved my old one but can't afford the new one so not sure if the "old" model is worth the cash.

Or a bit of a left field choice (I hate the way it looks) but the engine is awesome and the reviews are v favourable.

Not sure where else to go? Happy for thoughts / banter.

Its got to be the red S1KR. Not that I'm biased in any way.:)

It's a great selection to pick from...not a bad one there...and you have had experience of them all in one guise or another.
The Speed Triple feels taller in comparison to the S1000r...an observation not a criticism.
Haven't ridden the Yamaha but not a fan of the Crossplane engine...but we all differ.

The S1000r has its flaws...but as a package I have gelled with it immensely...there is nothing currently on the market I would swap it for...and that's a first for me in a long time.
But as said it's a great trio to choose from...so whatever one you do choose will not disappoint.

White is way quicker....fact.....and yes I seen the White girly comment...Red is for men who like other men...double fact

A word of caution...if you do decide on an S1000r the Forums and my very own dealer will tell you woes of full exhaust systems...it messes with the low down fuelling and all seem to struggle to get the bike rideable in anything but full throttle...which makes a great bike shit.

Green_Ninja

You need another Triple in your life Moz  :azn:

Not with a power commander and custom map fitted I'd suggest.

Apparently not...one in my dealer is getting returned to standard as the bloke has tried everything...and has given in...S1000r Forum folks had woes too...but haven't visited in a while as the Americans took over and spoke more shite than I could handle.

Interesting but so can't figure out why that would be the case.

My S1RR 2012 with a PCV and custom map was superb. Maybe it's a result of the detune.

As much as I love the Yam I'm not sure I could live with its looks.

I get on well with the mechanic bloke...so next time I'm up I'll ask what the issues are...it maybe the Forum could provide an answer...but it is full of Americans looking for 800bhp and a 0-60 time of less than the Speed of light.

I think most of the issues were when people were using full systems with short end cans. Those that ran full systems with long cans didn't seem to be having as many problems, or ones that couldn't be sorted with pc5 or reflash.
Not been on the forum for a few weeks myself so not sure what the latest is.

Is it still as shit...I couldn't be arsed listening to all those weekend warriors that modded every single bit of the bike for cheap tat.

Added to that the long Cans look fucking hideous...about 8 feet long from memory.

The one I'm considering has the Arrow system on it with the half length can.

Looks good.

Foo

Get yourself an 05 zx10r, street fighter it and gave the most fun you've had in ages on a bike 😄
