How long do no claims bonuses remain valid for?

In Oct 16 I gave up biking and received a letter from Bennetts stating I had accrued 15 years NCB.

When will that NCB become invalid? Does it vary from insurance company to insurance company?

I think it's 2 years. Could it be longer? Anyone know?

When I had a break from biking last, it was for 2.5 years. I managed to find an insurer that would accept it.

Yes I paid a higher premium for that year, but managed to salvage it.

I had this happen to me when I didn't ride , and Mce said it's up to two years they have to honor them , how ever at their discretion they can up to 5 years

No. Not at all. Just wondered how much time I've got to keep my insurance history intact. I'm away from mid June to mid Oct next year so it would be a pointless purchase.

Would possibly be worth buying an old shitter to insure to keep the policy up, move it on when you are ready to buy a decent bike, obviously depends on cost of losing no claims vs cost of premium etc.

Have KTM, Honda, Ducati, Triumph and Yamaha very close so I'll see what's about.
