An MV will shit itself if it's used as a trackbike.
Screw having something exotic.  Buy something Japanese and all you need to do is feed it petrol and tyres.

Another reason I got rid. I personally saw 2 bikes blow standard engines, one of which hadn't even done 2k miles

ooh some lovely looking bikes you have in mind, I do love a euro track day trip, EPIC they are  :afro:

Id suggest getting a BMW S1000rr or Gen 4 ZX10r with all the electronic trickery and Gizmos I reckon you would pick one up well within budget. My mates recently got a Gen 4 ZX10r and apart from the shocking colour scheme it wants for nothing.

My old gen 3 (Lacks all the gizmos and latest electronics) holds its own, and you can pick similar IL4`s up for around the 4K 5K mark. Thatll give you spare cash for trackday trips, tyres or upgrades when fettling.

Just a thought

that all makes lots of sense......

damn you all to hell

Annoyingly there are quite a few more suitable bikes around my budget.......

They just leave me a bit cold....... and I'm an emotional kinda guy!!!

Has mc101 not got some exotic Seton tuned cast off with enough bling to tempt you?

Thing is though, a track bike is an appliance rather than joy of ownership.
Unless you want to go to the trouble of turning something improbable into a track bike (remember my ZRX?) or get something like a Harris framed XR/GS1000 thing?

Nothing wrong with having a nice bike that you happen to ride on track days.
I just thought you were talking about a track bitch you could ride hard and put away wet

What about a Daytona 675R?

Corner speed so much more skilful than straight line speed.
Significantly faster than you.....

Remember it's going down the road at some point. Do you really want to spend all your time looking for spare parts?

OK can everybody just stop being so bally sensible?

Nothing decided yet other than (thanks to you cretinous knuckleheads): an MV is unlikely...... but that may change...... any time now.

Keep circling back to an RC8R though as I got on with my stock RC8 so well at Cartegena, so that's looking favourite.

Offer accepted on a Spanish Villa and since we viewed last week, the pound has shat enough to cost us around 3-4K so currently track bike budget is in flux.

You won't be allowed to visit it after March 29th anyway...

Rc8r sounds like a great halfway house. Unusual enough to feel special without being so rare it's a liability.
