Has anyone any idea how to get this helmet ? Seems it is limited to Japan only.

David W

Ask Arai's importer if they'd get one for you?

I'm pretty sure the Nakano Surikan design was in Arai's UK catalogue back in the day (I'm talking early 2000's).

Have you had an internet search for it??

The other option is Crossan Motocycles in Northern Ireland. They are big Arai dealers.

Nope.
The wife had the corsair in that design. I would think she would like the new one. The Arai RX7X isn't cheap in any design. Was just wondering if any one knew any other ways to purchase said lid. Cheers.

Graeme Lambert? Think the shell shape is different for the Aisian market, no?

Good shout re Mr Lambert.  ;)

I don't go for the Arai different shells for different markets. So an Asian bloke born in Europe couldn't get a European spec Arai ???? And how many Asians stay in North America ????? All to do with pricing in my opinion.  ;)
Plus the RX7 can be custom fitted too.

David W

They did make different shells for different markets but I don't think that's the case anymore.
To be honest I won't be buying another Arai until they change the design again.  My last one was so uncomfortable to wear it gave me headaches.

Sounds like it isn't BS/CE approved.
From that website via Google translate: "Because this helmet is a Japanese standard, it can not be used overseas."

David W

Probably cheaper to buy a white one and have it painted.

Pretty sure Arai will make all their helmets to the same standard. Whether that is BS/CE/Snell.

Helmet + postage (+ potential import tax ). Versus helmet and paint job. I could see the import being cheaper myself. Not that I have an idea what a custom paint job costs nowadays.

Aye, most likely. It's just that it has probably not been through the approval process.

Doesn't help you if it's potentially illegal to use on the road if it's not homologated.  You can argue all day in court it's the same helmet but the outcome would still go against you I think.
