right unknown to me my other half has just sent her licence off to have her 6th point put on she has held a full licence for less than 2 years am I right in imagining that when they realise she has 6 points they will revoke her licence she got the letter about the 3 more points a paid the fine thinking she would be ok (she didn't know about the probation period) I explained that the letter is not from dvla and that its probably a standard letter, any advice would be appreciated thanks
Above 6 points is a retest AFAIK
that's exactly what I thought.......
has she definitely had her license for less than 2 years? By that I mean it's not just less than two years since she got a bike entitlement or similar? the probation period is only 2 years from when you pas your first proper test..... just a thought as to why nobody has twigged yet.
She only ever did her bike test not done car , she's had her licence about year and half

that's the exact link I sent her when I realised she had racked up six
I'm guessing a penalty retest would have massive implications for insurance????
I never knew about the penalty retest - I wonder how many new drivers do???
Is it stressed to them during lessons etc??
Go directly to jail, do not pass go, do not collect £200....

she didn't have a clue she was never told I was told years ago when I passed my test im not sure you have to declare it to insureance shes going to be uninsurable female rider sportsbike ungaraged high risk area 6 points
fair to the system though I do think she's bloody dangerous the way she rides sometimes but then again we all have mad moments

Sounds like she deserves it ;)
all the damage and abuse she has caused and inflicted to my bikes I cant help think its karma
bloody shame as I doubt she will redo it and it was so hard to find me a "bird biker" in the first place
It's a ban...so she would need to declare it...and yes the information is passed on regarding the points status.
its not a ban its a licence revoke she could retake it the next day if she had the licence in possession
shes pregnant so im only slightly annoyed this is happening as you could imagine
she don't even declare her points to her insurer...

she don't even declare her points to her insurer...
Then she might as well not even bother having insurance :undecided:

In my experience it was stressed a lot. I might have been paying more attention though as I already had 5 on my provisional license so I was on a one strike and out!

haha yeah bet you was
It was designed to make new drivers think hard about their speed and driving standards more than otherwise they may have.
License revoked will be the same as a ban to Insurers...as for not declaring points that is seen as a breach of trust/honesty in which the policy is based upon...so the company may withdraw cover if the non declaration came to light...which is usually when someone makes a claim.

...or blabs about it on a public forum?
meh.... shes better off the road atleast till sprogs done cooking
I had my licence revoked years ago for the same reason.
I retook my tests and bought a car.
Your licence comes back clean when you retake your test, I took that to mean a clean slate. So when they asked when I passed my test I gave them the date I passed the second time.
They ask if you have points, or have been banned.
The points were wiped and I wasn't "banned", it was revoked so I didn't declare it any of it. I never considered the implications of not declaring it until now! I am well past needing to declare it so doesn't matter now.
If its going to void her insurance then she really should tell her insurer when she gets back on the road.
My old man once said to me the value of a driving licence is worth way more than the cost of getting your licence so look after it..
cheers for the info much as I thought
well it turns out that I was right even though she was convinced she was going to get away with it she has received a letter saying she will be losing her licence at the end of this month....... she is far from happy but at least the roads will be safer now and so will my bikes......
Gutted :(
That really sucks
it does when she paid way over the odds to get the bike she wanted and now shes going to get pennys back , its very frustrating for her as she cant drive yet ,so makes things very hard
It's a pain in the arse, but as people always say if you can't do the time.....don't do the crime.
Good luck to her on her eventual retest and sale of her R6
