How much is not enough???

Ever since the arrival of my daughter 9 months ago I have ridden my bike 4 times and one of those times was for a service! I am struggling to get out on it once a month at the moment.

Just seems a waste. Couple that with the fact I had a short ban this year for a speeding offence I committed when I collected my car, I am constantly aware of losing my licence permanently. Even riding sensibly you forget how quick these sports bikes go.

I think the time may have come to focus on track days. Maybe leave it this summer and decide.

Not sure what to do!!! Love having it there as an option but just seems a waste! What do you lot do?

Bikes go quick...trying not too is futile...if you're worried about your license get rid...it really is that simple.

Stuno1

True. Wasn't worried about my licence until this year as stated above.

Just have it exactly how I like it and it's not that easy a decision.... Not for me anyway.

Swap it out for a naked bike, or streetfighter it, and drop the gearing... and then use a bit more discipline.

Discipline seems to be the key there. It is very hard to control yourself on a sports bike!

INO The key is to get something smaller or slower which you have to work hard to have fun if the only time you enjoy riding it is when it is up in the powerband.

trackdays. /thread.

but therein lies another set of problems to content with. namely how to get enough time off work to do all you want to!

No-one ever got banned for doing wheelies......

If anyone thinks a Naked bike is the answer to stop you speeding then think again...okay so 150mph is hell....but achievable if you wanted...0 to 120 is easy...and you'll find yourself in shit if caught...I'm not being flippant with you Stuno1...but the only way to be assured of remaining out of trouble is getting rid...discipline is an option that only a few can achieve...

Stuno1

Yeah. Sadly that's probably true. Speed = fun hence track days.

Will see how I get on for the rest of the summer I think and make a decision. Love my bike and don't want to jump in to a decision.

We've all been there...I try to tame it by not doing stupid speeds...enjoy the twisties...but there are still some mad moments...in truth I can only hope luck remains my friend.

That's it though isn't it. Luck.

In Essex there is a very strong police presence and unmarked biker police. I get the impression luck runs out more quickly here than where I used to live.
