Radical...refreshing...moves the game on...and it will win many fans.

Millhouse

Life is a contact sport,  you'll be needing rule #5

Alzo

Haters is such a strong word...we all see things differently and that's a good thing....but hate...really?

Chojin

It's better looking than some of the sh*t Kwak are coming up with lately.

It's got an air of BMW about it though.

Millhouse,
I was trying to be more diplomatic but I have to say I agree with you completely.
I genuinely got a surprise when I saw THAT thing this morning.

Moz,
Each to their own of course but I really don't care anymore about "falling behind" with technology anymore.
The big problem the designers of the Hyper-bikes is - as far as I see it......by the mid-noughties they had made bikes that were easily as good as anyone could ever want for the road, however, because a sports motorcycle is often a "hobby-vehicle" there are still tens of thousands of them still about in great condition, with low miles going for a few thousand quid. SO----if they are going to still try & sell us pointlessly competent bikes, they at least need to look STUNNING. Not - some like it - some don't - like say the KTM RC8 - but one that EVERYONE agrees is wonderful like the first 916 - or dare I say it - the first R1.

Beauty is in the eye of the beer-holder of course - I just think I'd need a few pints to love that thing.

Absolutely no issue Whoopee - as you say, each to their own, eye of the beholder etc.

I like the Suzuki but I have to say their absence from MotoGP and top level racing (i.e. WSB) not going at all well is beginning to hurt their development.  Its a shame as the days of the all conquering K5 thou etc were heady.

I have to say, the big bang engine is so good I don't really care what they dress it in but I am a fan of the new bike.  I have always said function over form anyhow so never care what a bike looks like within reason as long as it does the job.

And Millhouse, you slap me, I'll bomb your house.....  ;)

Moz,
Good on ya - I do respect your function over form standpoint....& I'm certain the R1 will be the best of the entire current crop on track.

Will reserve judgement until the H2 comes out

MOzZereLLa

The road H2 pictures are available and looks awful IMO.

Will it be a better road bike though???  That'll be the clincher maybe.

R1 all the way for me.

Considering a deposit this weekend.
Significantly faster than you.....

How much are they selling for?

MOzZereLLa

Obviously not telling Mrs MOz but the rumour is £16k for the standard bike and £25K for the M.

The other option here is to keep the Banger for next summer and dip my toe into MotoGP for the road in 2016.

Yeah just visited nearest dealer site...poa is all that is available....one hell of a lot of money...899 Panigale is my bike of choice...quick enough...a few opportunities to ring its neck...the R1 will be a missile...and ultimately frustratingly awesome.
