I'm pretty unhappy with my R1 gearbox recall.

Trying to sort the finance company paying for it to be transported to Tamworth Yamaha for Josh Brookes' BSB engine builder to do the job.

If not - replacement on the cards.

I was in a shop full of them the other day.  They are pretty.  Built for dwarves that like to spend time chasing dealers for spares availability updates, but certainly pretty...

Gorgeous...no idea what one it is though...675...800...1000?

I totally agree DeeDub. Can't be any worse than the R1 for mechanical reliability

I rode a race kitted 675 version on the airfield last year when my old race team were supported by Robinsons Of Rochdale. Their owner bought it along for the day. Went well. Handled superbly but you did feel very "over the front" on it.

Sat on a 1000 version in my BMW garage...put the photos on FB...it felt painful for me stationary...definitely very front end orientated...look the dogs bollocks though.

When you change your bike more than you do tyres, that's the important thing................ ;)

saying that I'd be pissed if they had to split the engine on my brand new bike. Yamaha should have bitten the bullet and replaced all the affected engines.

In these days of mass production I'd have thought it would be cheaper to do that and recycle the old ones!

Definitely...I seen the photographic breakdown of the work involved...intense is an understatement. If some bafoon did the work it would be disastrous.

Not to mention I doubt most bike dealers ever do that kind of work anymore in these days of motorbikes-as-an-appliance.
