I saw one of those stealth signs the other day. Wtf is that all about?

MOzZereLLa

I think that is suggesting the roads are patrolled by unmarked bikes complete with speed recording cameras. I'm sure it was trialled in N Wales a couple of years back.
Significantly faster than you.....

Annual 'we are watching you' marketing campaign.  Been happening since forever.

Is it against the law to get your knee down on the road as long as you are within the speed limits?

Driving without due care, Dangerous Driving or Wanton and Furious Driving.
Take your pick!

Phil_8

Viewed in a similar vein as wheelies. Even if you are not speeding, the law would consider it dangerous/careless/reckless

The charge is 'not being in such a position as to be in control of your vehicle' and in terms of a motorcyclist with his knee down, to a magistrate who's never touched a bike before it looks like you're obviously about to fall off and kill people.

Outdated laws , judged buy the overpaid old fuckers that have no concept of life in general.

From 4 years of working,  ( use the term very loosely)  , within the Edinburgh court system.

From the basic mundane shit to the Highest appeal court. Very scary indeed.

On purpose too.

To be fair though, if you're going fast enough to have your knee down on the road you're probably going too fast for the corner that you're going round.

Or indeed looking like your racing.

I had an appearance in Crown Court London couple of years ago. insurance lawyer had my FB page of me doing a wheelie over the mountain. Submitted to evidence of my riding, it's not on public roads FFS.

With the low seat on my old G1, I could get my knee down almost anywhere, at any speed. I even did it turning at traffic lights.
