Well Ducati , the people who well make it , say it's a crusiers...... Albeit they say it's a sport-cruiser of which I would be inclinded to agree , however a cruiser it remains!

Isn't the latest model a more cruiser type? the foot pegs have been moved forward to give a more cruiser feel apparently.
