My new motorised bicycle

So I've been tentatively looking for another road bike since regrettably selling my Buell (no idea why) and was beginning to home in on another XB, albeit slightly disturbed by the recent hike in values...... they ain't fucking worth 7K!!!

Anyway, I'd seen the new Suzuki Katana on the internet and in magazines and not really thought much about it (meh, looks alright I suppose), although I was a massive fan back in the 80's...... it featured on my wank wall alongside rather dashing pictures of Sam Fox and her arch nemesis Linda Lusardi..... there might even have been one of Donna Ewin, because although she wasn't that pretty, she did have MASSIVE tits...... and I fucking LOVED the boobies.

About a week ago, Anna and I were out and about 'essentially travelling' for alcohol and whatnot when I spotted a Katana and was absolutely gobsmacked by how awesome it looked in the flesh.
Immediately hit the internet for reviews, found that it was essentially a GSX1000 with a GSXR K5 motor (larger stroke), 150 'grunty as fuck' horses, and fairly old school in terms of tech with 4 stage TC and a slipper clutch (which I've never used).
Reviews broadly positive so I set about looking for deals..... that didn't take me long as a local dealer was doing 20 plate pre-registered bikes for £8K, £4K off RRP.

So..... eyes set to full on 'doe' mode I went on the charm offensive in order to bring the gaffer around to my way of thinking, fully armed with a veritable plethora of reasons why the RC8 and the F4 essentially and urgently require a stablemate. She caved with alarming ease!!!! I am one charming fucker, I really am........

Long storey less long: whipped out the old debit card, gave the dealer a ring-a-ding-ding..... collect Sat-dee.

Quickshifter should arrive tomorrow too.

You now have my formal consent to air your views, as brutally honest or fluffily flattering as they may be....

I'm off for a wank over a pic of Sam Fox

Thats looks ok to me.

Oddly enough I have just purchased myself a 2014 R1200GS for road work/popping the youngest to school on and the like - first road bike in 20 years !

My new bike day is now Wednesday courtesy of Ninjaforce.

Feeling decidedly giddy at the mere prospect, I should be like an overexcited puppy by then.

K5 engine was always an absolute weapon.

The styling is unapologetically different and I like that, bit like my T700, have I mentioned I am getting it on Wednesday?

Odd looking thing but the bikes not bad

Enjoy your new bike...I hope it resurrects your mojo...I don't find the looks offensive at all...I liked the original...but that said it matters not what others think...it's what floats your boat.
Question: Would a fairing be an enhancement? 😉

Enjoy the new toy. Not a fan of the looks myself, I think Suzuki could have made it more like the original. Long and low, compared to the chunkier look of the new one.  Can you get a number plate hanger to put said number plate in the traditional position? It will certainly perform better than the original. Still, may you have many happy and safe miles ahead.

It's a lot of bike for the money. :thumbright:

Congratulations on the new bike. Very retro cool and what a bargain.

Yep, both smouldering vixens 💦

£8k seems a bargain compared to prices these days. I remember seeing one of these at Excel a couple of years ago. Only bit I'm not keen on is the plate hanger / back mudguard assembly but I imagine there's bolt on tail tidies if you're bothered yourself.

Happy new bike day and many happy miles on it :)

I like it's looks, enough styling cues back to the original, despite how short the tail is.

MOzZereLLa

I like it.

Is the standard exhaust loud. It looks like the old 750/600 oem stubby that was the finest standard zorst for noise I've experienced this side of the 765RS.
Significantly faster than you.....

It's just occurred to me that this bike is like Donna Ewin.........

More pics required for comparison.
