Its unfair on the bike to expect it
to perform like a sports bike as it isn't built for that.
Exactly...but what I said was that it took a bit of getting used after having ridden Sportbikes...but as with all things you adapt your riding to suit...it's a 1400 engine in a bike...so it can get a shift on...but you have to prepare for braking sooner...and setting it up for corners rather than barrel through...ride it like that and you'll be ploughing some farmers field for free. :-)

A 1200 Bandit...despite me assuming it would be a big lump of shit I couldn't have been more wrong...some work on brakes and suspension makes a surprising package...stonking engine...pulls like a train.

yep, bandit 12's tick all those boxes.

more agile than a GSX1400 too

Bandit 12's are really good fun, planted too!  As alzo said, brakes are a bit soft, but braided hoses help a lot. Good all round bike that can shift on

Rode one of these :

A few years back and was seriously underwhelmed. Crushing disappointment in fact. So an older version would be a no.

Unless it was a proper dog, I may need to test ride some stuff... [scratching chin smiley]

You won't find a good one for 2K, but they will appreciate in value.

I'm checking this bad boy out at the weekend as I'm determined to have a nice one in my garage as I've always loved them:

Why would you want a 750 one? Wasn't the standard model a 900?

Quote from another forum so I can't be sure, but it seems legit:

There's two reasons to give it a wide birth. Yes they made hardly any 750's compared to the 900 but that's because they were a part Trident part Speed Triple hotch potch. Trumph made the bike to get rid of all the old engines they had in stock prior to the european Euro 3? or whateveritwas regulations making the motors redundant. It was not a limited edition bike. It did not come with a plate saying 523 out of 1100. It was only limited by the amount of engines Triumph had kicking around the factory that they had to either get rid of or store for ever more :speechless:

I think it would be worth a look as you are local, just to satisfy your curiosity

IMO you're better off buying a proper, sorted 900
