Whilst the weather is shyte, thought I'd share about these which I've finally got sorted (needed a voltage regulator in the loom which I now have

They are the Mk2 Oxprod heated gloves and they are very nice to wear as regular gloves, and have the added bonus of 3 stage heating elements across the backs of them. My local trumpet dealership is selling them for £100 so a very good deal for heated gloves. I really fel the cold in my hands so a massive improvement, and much better than heated grips. I've pulled the loom out of my suit to show it in the pic. Current drain is 13 watts for both.

I think that is the worst tank pad I have ever seen.....

Was a gift...had to go on....better than advertising some random biker fashion house brand...harks back to the Ed Roth stuff of the 60's  (which I like)

I have same problem as you cold hands, though they do say that means a warm heart.

I'm hoping to get out on it over the break Steve. Haven't had any really cold weather to test them properly, but they are warm and well insulated without turning them on so they can just be worn as a regular glove without hooking up to the loom. It gives the option anyway, and much nicer than heated grips. I've been wantingsome for a while now.

The 1190 Adventure has a 12v socket on the dash.  Could you just plug a pair of heated gloves into that if you wanted?

You can do I guess, but the gloves loom connects directly to the battery and the rider side of it runs from the wire coming between the seat and tank and then up throught he riders suit. It is a bit wierd feeling them warm up, but very welcome when you feel pain from the cold in your hands (which I do)

I know what you mean re cold hands and pain.... I get the same. Yesterday my heated grips packed in  so very cold and painful hands when I arrived at work

The Adventure has hand guards which deflects the worst of the wind over the hands. As a result my commute yesterday (1.5 degs at its coldest) only required med heat on the grips.
