tell me about em.
more specifically, tell me about them as a track bike Vs my BeeOne...

The engine is not as strong in standard trim on the 675 as the B1

Millhouse

strong as in liable to explode?

or strong as in pulls like a train?

B1 is as strong as in a box of hungry cats fighting over a kipper

The 675 s engine is much softer on delivery, and I felt I was sitting on top of the bike rather than being part of it if you get my drift

Alzo

675 has less top end...but in every other respect a better engine...push out of corners is immense...not much between them performance wise on paper...but for feel and fun the Daytona wins.

If he puts in a big bore kit, his B1 will be a lot more than the 675 though

Stunning, nimble cracking engine but a bit on the small side was the general opinion I had after a ride on one

But thats not a comparison of a 675 and a B1...plus the handling is much better...you can tell they are from different eras.

I am very little but even I felt like I was looking over the front wheel. That said you get very used to it and once you do it is absolutely incredible as a package on the road and track; the handling just feels like it has everything. If you c fit on one you've got to have a go.

The engine is just different to an IL4. compared to the 675 engine the B1 feels like a rocket in my opinion but its got to be screaming. I've only been around Brands but there was never a point where I felt like I didn't have more power than I was using.

I'd say you'd know quite quickly whether you were going to miss the scream of the IL4 on track. But on the road the 675 is a completely superior engine IMO

I felt that the handling was better on the Daytona, but that was because the B1 was never that brilliant out of the box.

He is arguing to spend another £2 or £3k on a Daytona which he wil then have to spend more money on (as you do), or spend a couple of £K on his existing B1 to give it a very strong engine which already handles and stops brilliantly (apparently)

It is no contest really if he is happy with everything else on the B1 than the bottom end and mid range.

Millhouse

either way it'll be spending about the same amount. (IE £lots)

A change of bike will give renewed vigour..the B1's have had their day...things have moved on.

See if you offer Mr Pickled Onion a trackday if you can do alternate sessions on his and yours.

Much cheaper than a Smallboy rental.
