So these Chinese levers have undergone quality testing as per the Euro levers? I doubt it. Whilst they may look the same on the outside, it's highy likely that they'll be inferior in material grade. I'd rather pay the extra than save a few pence and take the risk. Your choice though innit.
bit more than pennys there a tenth of the price and either which way as ash says there be stronger than oem levers anyway

"Until they go brittle"
What will make them go brittle? - sunlight, rain, the dye in your gloves?

....& as Carbon says - you're not saving a few penny's they're a FRACTION of the cost.
Mine actually DO take the brass bushings from the OE (cheap-cast-crap) levers.
They are identical to Pazzo's but if there are any areas where the quality isnt quite as good - they're certainly better than the standard ones.
I'd love to do a pull-test on one in a rig to see the force needed to fail one - I'm sure the master-cylinder innards would fail at a fraction of their failure load.

Would you put your child in a Chinese copy car seat that had under gone no testing?  I wouldn't, the same applies for brake levers.

Manufacturers don't test every component though in mass production, and I'll take a stab and say that most child car seats are made in China nowadays.

I think Tim and Luke were referring to the generic Chinese copy products that haven't been mass manufactured to EU standards and sold through regular sales chains. Sucj as the copy stuff that's offloaded via eBay and other sources, of which I have had numerous electronic related items and is always cheap, naff and ends up usually being binned as it's not worth a wank, and with no real comeback or warranty.

If anyone wants to donate one of each, I'll get them tested. We can do hardness testing in house, and the biggest ally extruder in the world is one of my customers which is conveniently on the way home from work.

I've "tested" them for about 30k miles so far - & they seem to have managed not to snap - but, as ASH says, as they're machined from solid aluminium & bolted into a flimsy (by comparison) cast master cylinder bracket - that's no surprise really.

I'd LOVE to see the results of that test - the actual failure force compared to OEM, I'll take a stab at approx double.

I'm fine thanks Gilby. It doesn't bother me one way or the other with regards to levers and such like. It's all personal choice innit.

Yeah it is personal choice - but it's a considered decision which is not what is implied by your posts.
I'm not just blindly using them simply because they're cheaper & ignoring the chance that they might fail causing terrible injury or death.

You're implying I'm implying something which I'm not implying. They may be better quality, they may be worse, it's a bit of an unknown without testing. Like I said, I'd rather pay and have peace of mind over an unknown quantity, but that's just me.

Aye man, still cycling. Went out yesterday and did 45 miles after work, pretty flat route though. I need to look at my bike as I think the bottom bracket is about to collapse, I'm off to ebay to look for a chinese copy ;) If you fancy going out for a ride I'm game, slow but game.

If you actually get a hold of a pair of the Pazzo copies, examine them, handle them, scrutinise them closely....
....unless your basic-engineering-common-sense is woefully bad....you'd realise that they ain't gonna snap!
