missus blown up her r6?

well her bikes died again I didn't see it so don't know exact details but she says its been running sluggish the last week and then yesterday she had a massive backfire and then it went jerky but managed to get it home she says there was a strong egg like  smell ,battery now seams to be dead I tried to bump it and it tried to start but just cut out , what's your thinking guys?

she has yet to have a letter of some sort saying her licence is revoked.... she needs the bike to work so she can sell it

I had this on my vfr400. The rectifier / regulator unit had failed causing the battery to overheat. That wouldn't run without the battery properly. New battery and rectifier and it was fine. Might be the same on the r6

its what we was thinking but don't wanna buy it and find out its not the problem as shes said its been running crap and I was under the impression that they just blow no warning

There are a few ways they can go,  so it's not so clear cut as that I'm afraid.

If she needs it sold then either buy the reg/recc and possibly a cdi unit, as this sounds like another possibility, or sell it as is.

Start with the cheapest and keep swapping in new parts until it's fixed.
