and congratulations, ive got two girls and a boy and must say that you cant beat getting cuddles off of them when you walk through the door after a day at work.

and as for getting them involved in anything bike related, wait, they may prefer horses.

Don't I just know that.....
Significantly faster than you.....

Before you start buying bike gear and planning the baby's future on track I would say wait until the miracle is complete and you hold in your hands a hopefully happy healthy baby.

When that moment comes the whole of the universe will seem very insignificant (including this bike forum).

Never take for granted how lucky you are to create a life, it's very insulting to read how matter of fact you and your partner are and how she is disappointed in what she will have.

I hope all goes well for the rest of the pregnancy and your child and partner have no complications.

Amen to that, One of mine did, the other one didn't despite my original preconceptions that all little girls want a pony.

+1..... I'd also wait and see if you can afford the time and money to go racing with your bundle of joy once you've done and bought everything else that needs doing.

The closest I have are my niece and nephew and Sunday afternoons are spent sat quietly at the table doing homework together so she can be clever and save the world..... her priorities, not any of ours!

You think like this now, wait until she arrives.

Since my two have been born I have the firearms licence and shotguns all ready for when "boyfriends" hit the scene in approx 10 yrs time.

My daughter brought her first boyfriend home after I insisted on meeting him. When he'd gone she asked me if I liked him.

I replied "He's still got his teeth hasn't he"

I hear this sort of talk all the time, but the reality is that if they do hook up or move in with someone you know nothing about or disapprove of when the have either come of age or close too, you are in all reality left impotent. You have to let them make their own decisions, and hope that you as a parent have managed to instill a degree of common sense in them. If they fail, then that is part of lifes' lessons.

Been there done that....

Mate, I think that you are spot on with this, and with a three year-old daughter, I'm pretty terrified about the challenges that the future is likely to hold!
