well its outside again after its winter pampering
unfortunately it ran for about 10 seconds before deciding it didn't know what gear it was in
instead of neutral it thinks its in 2nd, and obviously wont run with stand down
when in 1st it thinks its in neutral, 2nd thinks its in 3rd and so on
seems the gear sensor failing appears to be a common fault on panigales from looking on the forums
unfortunately our local ducati dealer closed down in jan, so now have a good 140 mile round trip to get it sorted.. thats when they actually give me a call back about when i can actually take it in

It's a 1st year model glitch...software fix I believe...the bummer is the distance to the dealers. Hope you get it sorted soon.

was always a bit of a risk... ducati + first year of new model
but wasnt a big deal when dealer was 2 miles away
no more than a month after they shutdown this magically appears

i am hoping it is just the sensor rather than the software, but we will see i guess

left a message with seastar superbikes near norwich as i am based up in beccles a couple of days a week at the moment
they called me back yesterday, said had encountered this issue a lot, put a claim in for me straight away for the sensor as 99.9% sure that is what it is and they will call me when it comes in.
much less painful than expected

i took it out today for a spin to work, was actually fine when i started it up and remained fine for about 3 miles, then while dawdling along in 2nd watched it change to 3rd in front of me eyes

so happy to have it back working correctly.. i forgot how much i love my panigale 
seastar superbikes near norwich sorted it no problems at all, also was a nice 120mile round trip
got another 120 miles out of it yesterday too as decided to ride to our warehouse in beccles on it
cold ride back mind you

Glad its sorted. Mines is done....free 600 mile service for my woes...£160 in my pocket.
