For track days/racing........Does anyone intentionally counter steer to get the bike turned in? Each time i intentionally try to do it i kind of fight it....if that makes sense? I tend to straighten up both arms if one tries to overpower the other lol

Im absofukinloutley getting me knee down this year!!!!!

A little bit but I prefer weight through the footless on the road. Only time I have felt the need was on track when changing direction quickly. But I am a big lad so getting a bike turned has never been a big deal for me.

You're always counter steering to a certain extent.  It's the only way a bike turns above a few miles per hour.  The only difference is how much fierce you put into the counter-steer to affect the rate of the turning.

this

cant see how you are not counter steering

Push left bar to drop into a left turn, push right bar to drop into a right turn.

Keeps it simple and is what seems to work for me.

I understand this however its not something i think about on general rides. It just happens on track when im trying to get the rate of turn faster. I think that maybe ive confused myself a bit and the fighting is me trying to counter steer by pushing the wrong way?

Ill have a read of TOTW II that Jimhas7 sent and see if it goes in :)

CSS gave got a counter-steer bike with a set of rigid handlebars fixed above the clip ons.
Basically you ride it along, put your hands on the fixed bars and you can jump up and down on whichever footpeg you like and the bike tracks straight as an arrow.

whoopee

I counter steer really forcefully,...it's the only way to make a gsxr1000 turn in really quickly.

I've seen that vid. Only pressure on the real bars make the bike turn

Counter steering is the only way to turn a bike when you are doing more than about 10mph, so unless you are really slow you are already counter steering. Take your left hand off the bar and set it flat on the tank, do it in a 30 mph limit, you will see how easy it is to counter steer when one arm isn't fighting against the other.
