Once the bike is running, there is no drain on the battery (unless the reg/rec is knackered), so running the satnav will have no effect on it.  Leaving it running whilst the bike is off WILL drain the battery though.

make sure the satnav feed is via an ignition switched feed so that it isn't powered when the bike isn't running - SIMPLES

I have no idea how to do that , I just do it direct to battery , and dont leave it on the bike when not running

went to fire it up this morning to ride to work but was unsuccessful ,the battery was fully charged last night and I drained it flat , it didn't even turn over , as previously mentioned the battery fitted is not the recommended one (slightly less power) but I have a question before I splurge out on a fancy new battery , could it not be the spark plug?

I've had batteries turn over an engine reasonably well....but...they didn't have enough power to do that AND supply the ignition system...you could charge them until you're 90 and it won't make a difference.

its 1.5ah less than recommended , the dash does flicker when I attempt  to start it , I was wondering if it could possibly be the spark plug instead , or possibly aswell

It's likely the battery doesn't have enough power.

Your handbook or Dealer should be specific.

Ive asked ktm maid dealer and they just say  the battery model, but in this case more is better , correct?
