as with everything else, it's the few that end up causing grief for the masses!

what....like you, stood there arguing for 5 minutes, when you could simply do as you're being asked and comply with their shitty rules on their shitty premises.

Ultimately, people don't like being told what to do.

Noooo, not like me.... I'm a saint. If I'm asked to get off the bike or take my lid off before I fill up I do without complaint (I would complain because I don't like being told what to do!). I do see the logic of getting off the bike to fuel it, despite not liking being asked to.

My issue is when I want a full tank of gas and I don't know how much that is. If there was a pre-pay system then it'd be fine, but there isn't.

Carbon_ZX6R

I dont think I have ever got off to fill up if I'm honest...

- Gilles rear sets
- R&G Crash Bungs

In all my days on this planet I have never seen a Motorcycle on fire at a Petrol Station. Just saying.
And I will always sit on my bike filling up...because it's the way I have always done it...and I ain't changing it for no one. The End.

Just another example of Eurocrats in Brussels trying to undermine our fundamental right as Britons to sit astride our motorcycle whilst replenishing the tank.

This will all change when Boris becomes Prime Minister after Brexit.

Or not.

I have never filled up while on the bike and never understood the logic for doing so. Bike tanks are designed to be filled on the side stand, even if the bike has a centre stand.

Just don't see the benefir of doing so.

It's how they do it in the TT innit wiv the race bikes! If these petrol stations were worth their salt they'd do us bikers a visor swap and all!

     good point well made

More chance of spillage if a bike is tipped on its side...fact...do not dispute.

Gobert

My opinion on this is the same as the helmet on / off while paying arguement.............life's too short.............

It's not of epidemic proportion that would justify such legislation...if it was a daily occurrence world wide I would accept it...but I have never seen...read...viewed on TV...on T'internet...nor heard of such an event..

Not usually one to caused a fuss, next time I'll use a pump not in direct view.

Another time I had nipped in on the bike to get some milk, no fuel, and was told I had to take my helmet off despite being at the counter holding the milk and the money

Well.... If you're ever unfortunate enough to be sat refuelling your bike as you spill petrol all over your balls, just as a random spark occurs........ Let the last image which goes through your mind be that of my chubby little face mouthing the words "I told you so"

For the record, I'd be inconsolable at the loss..... Albeit moderately smug
