Pilot road 4 or T30 evo?

So the Tigers rear Pirelli Angel GT tyre is essentially square and has left the bike handling like a Harley.

I've been a bridgestone rider through bt023 and the original T30 but a lot of people on the triumph forums are obsessed with the road 4.

What do folks on here think? My opinion of Michelin's might be in correctly biased by the frankly dogshit deathtrap Road 2 tyres I had on a bike years ago.

Any folks running these? I ride right through the winter so all weather grip is super important plus decent mileage.

Why not Angel STs if you were happy...I see them for as little as £139 a pair. Personally not convinced with PR4s...but lots are...had them on my Speed R for a bit but never quite built faith.
But most agree there isn't a bad tyre out there...so if you favour one brand or model over another then do it...faith in  our biking brains is a strong motive...so do what your brain is happy with.

I didn't like PR2s when I rode with them but the 3's where good on the Triumph ST and the GSXR and I've just done the last 12months on the 4's and a really pleased with them, would have had the Angels but my Tyre place forgot to order them because I've used them before and been very happy on them and didn't really think the additional £70 it was costing for the Pilots was worth it.. Confidence on the Michelin is good in wet or dry (even snow) but they are a more rounded profile than the T30, might try the Metzler z01 next as they get rave reviews but not sure any of them are going to be found as wanting by my skill level..

If the Angels have worked well for you and there are deals to be had I'm not sure I'd be moved to change in your position

Also. Angel tyres have been okay at best. Good grip in the dry but average in the wet and they squared off very quickly.

You're right though all the new tyres are good. Think I will go for some more T30 evos

I agree on the Angels, square off far too easily for a supposed Sports Touring tyre, grip is good when new, I've swapped the PR3's on the Tiger and am very impressed with them, haven't tried 4's.

I do like standard T30's as well good grip and wear.

Odd...because a chap I rode with had the R same as mine...he did the Pyrenees on them and after 4k miles they looked great...that's why I am considering them...STs not GTs...and they are cheap as chips too.

Yeh, I got on very well with T30s on my old Daytona 675.

Good in the wet and even did a trackday on them!

I went for the Road 4s. Mainly as I'm keen to compare it to the T30 Evos I had last time.
