What are my options?

So I'm supposed to pick up my Indian on Thursday. Bike was ordered in November in a 3.5k trade in deposit. another 2k was paid in January and the balance paid in early Feb. I popped in Monday and they don't even have a delivery date for me, let alone it being ready fo me on Thursday. To say I'm miffed is an understatement. What's my legal options( cancel order and refund/compensation), get some free servicing or just wait till its delivered? I really like the bike and cancelling might be cutting my nose of to spite my face but I'm at loss how over 103 days ( total days when I started my countdown app) isn't enough time for them to get my bike too me. Any thoughts appreciated.

Druid.

Wouldn't bother me that I'm not getting delivery in February, but it would concern me that they're not even providing you with an alternative date.

In your shoes, I'd give them a reasonable date by which you expect full delivery (by full I mean, not "it's in the country Sir"), negotiate some compensation such as free servicing as you suggest and if they either can't commit, or fail to deliver, explain that you expect a full refund within 7 days.

Legally, I'd probably get in touch with trading standards?

Shit situation to be in though, you have my sympathy for all it's worth.

Send m6rk in to broker these discussions, you will probably end up with two bikes and the dealers eldest daughter.

At least you get a bike on an 18 plate rather than a 67.

I'd have always negotiated picking up after 1 March.

Did you keep in touch with the dealer for delivery updates during the order and payment processes? I would have been all over them for updates every few weeks.

Read all the small print in the invoice. Might be the dealer "cannot be held responsible" for any delivery delays from the factory. It's an American product at the end of the day.
Significantly faster than you.....

Definitely dont cancel it! I love the look of the Himalaya and am very tempted by one myself!!

As others have said, not too much of a loss at this time of year. Try and blag some servicing or free accessories/clothing etc

If all else fails, pop in to your local CAB

Thursday is the first of March. I specifically ordered it for that date because a) new plate and b) I would've been unlikely to ride it if it had been delivered before that date. I also spoke in January and February with and no probs where mentioned.

Sorry Druid. I loss track of time.

What you need to get is a firm date from the factory via your dealer or importer. Insist on that and hit them for servicing etc as others have said.

What model did you order and any unusual spec/colour?

Not seen too many bobbers but plenty 1 mile Scouts on Autotrader.

Other than that, no more advice than already given but hope you get it soon.

Indian Scout Bobber- standard colour-Matt black and aftermarket exhaust and side mounted plate. The bobber is a new model but they're readily available in the states so production shouldn't have been problem.

Bobber build rather than the 2017 launched bobber factory model.

Looks bloody cool though.

Nice bike but 2 years old now. I might get that seat though, really compliments the bike.

Although at nearly 400 sheets, it might have to wait a while.

Unacceptable in my book. Cancel and go to the dealer who has stock.
