temp reading Lo

just bought a 2000 model r6 and i noticed when riding it home that it was still reading Lo not showing the temp of the bike at all any advice would be great thanks

Check the plug is connected properly, check for corrosion on it.  Maybe the sender has gone open/short.  Check your earths too.

That should keep you busy for 10 minutes.

Does it have coolant in it?

i checked the coolant and topped it up slightly, any idea where the sender is located thanks

had the bike running replaced the thermostat and the fan is kicking in but it is still reading Lo on the dash i am stumped anymore advice would be great thanks

ive checked the plug is connected properly checked the wiring no breaks in it found the connector under the tank for the dash and that is clean checked all the others while i was at it no corrosion anywhere.
any idea where the sender is located thanks

temp sender sits underneath the carbs..



remove and test it..

Remove the connector from the sensor and with ignition o  hold the connector against the engine. If ths temp reading  goes as high as it can then the sensor is fooked.

checked the sensor today and the connector wasnt on it put it back on and is working fine now
