Ok, so I was doing a little tidying up in the shed, and ended up emptying the contents of my trackday toolbox.....turns out that what was in there was not really all that useful.

I have been fortunate over the years, that I haven't really needed any/many tools trackside, but theres always a first.  I know that a lot of folk will say that there are always others with tools, but what if everyone thought that way ?

I'm figuring that 3/8" sockets 8-19mm, same with spanners, a mallet, some flat and philips screwdrivers

But what else.....what can you folk recommend (tools not brands) that should be in a good but basic kit that should cover necessary jobs in the pits ?

I have a socket set, screwdriver set, pliers, spanner set, multimeter, various wire crimp connectors and wire cutters.

Think thats about it.

plus 1 for gaffa tape and zip ties! I got a tack or something in my tyre at Llandow one year, how about a tyre plug kit or is that a silly idea to have a fresh plug put in on a trackday?

In order of importance:

laptop & charger
usb lead for gopro
OBD lead for bike
hammer (obvious)
gaffertape (for silencing people who mock)
cableties (to stop them removing the tape)
flat screwdriver (for opening after trackday beer bottles)
crap for changing wheels
