As per the title ..... how the feck are you meant to get the bike up without it falling over!!! :BangHead:

Tried and tried, every time we go to lift the back end, the pin that goes into the back spine starts to come out and the bike wobbles, what a pain in the arse!!

Can anyone explain the knack of working these feckers ............. please

Never had an issue with mine on the Speed, it is a Honda specific one or a generic one? sometimes the arm that holds the pin can be set slightly off upright so that the bike tends to slide onto not off the Pin if you see what I mean.

Other than that it's probably just a case of getting the 'knack' of using it.

Must admit I too was nervous about using a paddock stand when I first got one, but you do get the knack. I have R&G cotton reals on the swing arm, that helps, I get the stand on the reals whilst the bike is on its side stand then push the bike umpiring hot with my left hand whilst pulling the paddock stand down with my right hand. That works for me.

Just remember to keep your side strand down for when you take the bike off the stand

Removing the bike, pull the stand up with right hand.... Slowly mind you, and hold the rear of the bike with your left, as the stand comes away from the bike tip the bike towards you with your left hand and she should settle on her side stand..... Hence the need to ensure the side stand us down.

Hope this helps

its a generic stand, but with a pin that is meant to be specific to the bike. We have tried it going from the side stand and with me holding the bike upright and my hubby working the stand. Each time as soon as you start to put pressure on the stand, the pin starts to slide back out and the bike starts to fall over!

Will try again and see if there is any way to adjust the angle, or see if we can get it to grip it at all.

cheers

this is the one I have!

Thinking on the bobbins option, I spoke to a bike shop this morning and they didn't think that bobbins can be fitted to the CB, but R&G do sell them for it, so a bit bemused here  :undecided:

just been out and tried again ... fail

It looks like the pin is too small, its wobbling around in the chamber, hence why every time you put pressure on it, it slides.

Checked the website and the pin for the Honda looks exactly the same as the one I have. Can only guess it may fit some Hondas, just not this one!!

Looks like a new paddock stand and bobbins then.

You may find it easier with bobbins I know I do, and a set if bobbins and new stand is cheaper than dropping the bike

CB1000R....... Very nice indeed...... What colour?

CBr6y

ordered the bobbins last night, will pick up another stand locally. Yes definitely much cheaper than dropping the bike, don't fancy that much!!

Bike is black n very shiny

you should be able to get the correct PIN, cheaper than a new stand and I assume the bobbins option is either side of the rear wheel through the axle which means that will be fine for cleaning but you'll be buggered if you need to take the rear wheel off.

The PIN should be a good fit, no slop.

Lorna if you can get a size of the bore and let me have the pin i can 'turn' you a new one on the lathe at work... :)
