The Hornet is winning at the moment from what I have seen - but the supermoto might be a new avenue!

suzuki drz400sm - 2500 ish for a reasonable looking one
KTM exc450   - similar price

but ALL requre lots of servicing!!

Had a DRZ400sm as a loan bike a number of years back......Dull as dishwater

The Hornet gets my vote...proven...cheap...quick enough...looks good...spares aplenty.

This is the first reasonable alternative to the Hornet I have found (road legal, good nick, not silly money etc)

I do wonder whether it would be a better bike to own for a Sunday blast. Sure as hell no good for touring and long trips!!

Mk2 SV650 would get my vote. :moto:  The ER6 Ray hired for the Memorial Rideout was a cracking bike too, as is DaveH's. :moto:  Could not believe how swift off the mark they were and I was on a 1050.  :moto:

I'm guessing the ER6 would cost more than a like for like SV ? :moto:
