Carbs leaking fuel spears to be a jammed float from what I can tell going to take it off and take it apart what am I likely to need as ive never worked on a carb before? , need it running properly as I'm about to start my s.e.r.v training , any "help" is much appreciated .

On the ktm?  Probably a 6 and 8 mm spanner, 2 or 2.5mm Allen key, small and medium flat screwdriver, pliers,  carb cleaner and some rags should cover it

big hammer, percussive maintenance.

(sorry, can't offer anything constructive. Never done bike carbs, but at a guess there will be loads of stuff on youtube)

Float bowl screws can be a bitch to remove.

Ahh thought there might be seals or gaskets , and id have to replace the needle or something

Set fire to the carb, this will burn any fuel off and it won't leak all over you

not had time to do it yet but just started it up and it was fine no fuel leaking , may just need a good clean as it seems to me its gunked up

Going to take the carb off tomorrow and see what's what with it but something has just hit me the fuel problem didnt happen before I turned the idle screw to lower the idle speed is there any chance this is related?

Altering the idle setting WILL NOT make fuel leak, all it does is lift the slide.

Have you tried Googling for information??? It's amazing what you can find, also Youtube is a surprisingly good resource for 'how to do it' videos' failing that buy a service manual and actually read it???

I only asked because I read there was a fuel drain screw and I'm not entirely sure that wasn't what I turned ,but it did effect the idle anyway

you really should do your research BEFORE messing with stuff you know

Needs to be done urgently its pouring fuel out the fuel tap doesn't seem to be 100%...

fuel out of the tap or out of the carb?

If it's the tap leave the carb alone and get a tap rebuild kit.

If it's leaking from the carb, turn the fuel off, carefully remove the float bowl and see if there's a load of crud in the bottom. If there is clean this out, put a container under the carb, float bowl still off, and run some fuel through and hopefully this will clear out the float valve, carefully lift the floats to see if gently pressure stops the flow of fuel. If it doesn't you will probably need  need float valve assembly.
